Maybe we will find out now if the cyclist was the intended "hit" and the British family were innocent witnesses or vice versa.However given the performance of French investigation's over the Joanna Parrish murder I doudt it.

I would have confidence in the French police if Maigret was still involved, but as you say, it may amount to something.

A few years ago we went to Paris for an annniversary trip. We were sitting in a restaurant when the police burst in and started to question everyone about a robbery that had taken place in a nearby shop. Apparantently someone had robbed a shop and run off down the street...........the police completely overlooked the fact that I was sat in a wheelchair.

Why do you lack confidence in the French Polices abilities, Mikey? They are as competent as any other nationalities police, as far as I know..

Seems they wanted to search his house. Under French law they had to arrest him to be able to do this.

though i heard that there had been some more info on this case i haven't looked to see what that was. our police force may have some bad apples, just like anywhere, but they do a pretty good job, and one should look at the record of some police forces around the world, corrupt, and no qualms in shoot to kill.

The French police did a good job on the Toulouse assassin, a couple of weeks after his first killing he was in a box.
