Such a very good character actor. Can anyone remember when he played an old man that had dementia on the TV years ago ?

Long innings
RIP, a great character actor.....
Great actor.....was particularly brilliant recently in THRONES and memories of Harry Grout in Porridge.

A fine innings indeed.

Rest in peace, Peter
Great actor. Did any of you watch film he was in with Susan George called Eyewitness? 1970 I believe. In my opinion it was really good and quite shocking for that time. RIP Peter.
One more for this awful 2016
He played a character in Our Friends in the North (Christopher Eccleston's dad) who developed dementia. An extraordinary performance
The 1970's film with Susan George, was Straw Dogs (1971) also starring Dustin Hoffman.

RIP, Peter Vaughan. xx
Sipowicz. Not sure if you were replying to me about 1970 film with Peter Vaughan and Suzan George. It was definitely Eyewitness. Not Straw Dogs of which I've seen also. Very good film for its time.,
