Just washed a cotton top - deep pink - luckily separately by hand but the colour came out so much it stained the airer ! Is there something about putting salt in the rinse, to stop this happening ? Thanks everyone

I believe salt does help colour stay put.... you could also just try cold washing too! and a more caring detergent..
Salt is used when dyeing clothes, to set the colour. So, perhaps it will help. You will find that it happens less next time though, anyway.
Salt? It depends on the dye. Some dyes need vinegar instead. But Dylon do a Cold Water Dye Fix that will fix all dyes. Google for 'dylon dye fix'.
