Just noises in the house I grew up in as a child when there was nobody there. I have never seen anything except once I woke up and there was a novice at the end of the bed but by the morning he wasnt a novice any more. boom boom
was posting an answer and whooosh back to the Morning Slightly later thread.......

Footsteps on stairs of first house OH and I moved into. Previous owner had died, his widow was selling the house.
Asked him nicely to move out and no more noises.
1) a black dog ran next to my car at 50mph
2) me and my ex saw a man walking next to road. His face and hands were so white they were glowing in our headlights from quite a distance away. he had a long frock coat and an old fashioned hat on. He walked level over all the drainage cutaways and stared straight ahead, never stumbled.
3) the bed in my flat would wake me by shaking and rattling (serious). a friend who stayed there for a few months after i left had same experience.
Hi Barmaid, Albaqwerty and Pericat xxx

At my family home there are spooky goings on - things just falling to the floor for no reason, cold spots in certain areas (ie it will suddenly go VERY cold in a couple of places for no reason), heat hazes (or what looks like them) appearing where there is no source of heat, footsteps along one of the corridors at night, but most spooky of all was my brother when he was about 8. He screamed the house down one night because he had not been able to sleep then his curtains blew into the middle of the room, then a model fell off the top of the wardrobe and then he saw a tall man in old fashioned clothes with a beard standing in the door way of his bedroom. My sister's cat also just freaks for no reason there.
Tell me more -
Animals are supposed to be really sensitive arent they? It always spooks me when I am in the house alone and one of the cats stops suddenly and stares
My friends mum is a medium and she got her other medium fridn round to talk to us all for about half hour each. When I went in room he said to me ' I know you can see things too, never be ashamed to say, you saw him in the house didnt you? and he knows you're looking out for her' I had seen my friends father who had recently died in a car crash but I never said.
barmaid, have you ever tried to catch anything on film or tape?

Thanks Yogi - some spooky stories there. Red yours sounds chilling!!

Peri, I did go to see a medium - I think she got pissed off with me though. Eventually she told me this:- in your house you have a room at the top of the stairs which is not used (correct, I never used the master bathroom which was right at the top of the stairs - I had an ensuite). She said that in that bathroom was the spirit of an 8 year old boy called William. She said unusually he was active when I was and passive when I was instead of the other way round. SHe says he is cheeky and mischevious and likes annoying me by moving my stuff. It was however a new housing estate which I thought was odd (but who knows what had been there before).

Well being the old cynic I was I decided it was a load of tosh. Still by the time I got home that night (very late and very dark, I had begun to think there could be something in it). Now don't laugh at this next bit (it was called "hedging your bets").

When I got home I sat down and spoke to my "ghost". I said "OK Billy, now I know you are here, you can have the bathroom as long as I have the rest of the house. Don't move my stuff, leave the cat alone and behave and we'll just get along fine. Muck me about matey and I'll have the priest in before you know it". After that I used to walk past the bathroom every morning and say "Hi Billy".

No Red, I haven't. I would not even know how to go about it. Now might be a good time though - my brother is renovating some of the attic rooms and mum thinks he has annoyed something cos in the middle of the night there is loads of crashing and banging up there. (The attics is where the insane bloke who topped himself by jumping down a well lived with his nurse).
i think thats nice, barmaid. 4get and my flats have both had strange goings on but i have felt afraid (even when bed was shaking, which happened a few times). I have always felt calm and settled there so, if there is anyone sharing the s[ace with me i know they mean no harm to me. Maybe your guest doesnt like to alarm you, just wants to share your home.
This is too spooky - Im holding my breath when reading the posts and starting to hyper-ventillate here. Barmaid - was anything of yours moved before you were told this
barmaid. are you on the FB group?

do you have a camcorder? or even a dictaphone? camera, digial or film?

There are a few things you could do. set up trigger objects, see if they move. Set a tape recorder running and ask if anyone would care to leave a message. Sit there in the dark with a camcorder, most have nightshot or 0 lux capability

I don't think Billy (if he did exist) meant any harm. I moved out 8 years ago so I guess I will never know.

At my next house (a very old farmhouse in the country) I was convinced there was something there. Also thought it was a she, but there was no malevolence. The spiders used to scare me more!!!!
