My age last year was a multiple of 6.
Next year my age will be a square number.
How old could I be?
How long do I have to wait until my age is both a square number and a multiple of 6?
How do I work this out thanks?

I won't give you the answer, but you can work it out through knowing the square numbers that exist and using common sense and basic maths.

square numbers are 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100 etc etc.
There are several answers to this question .
I must be missing something here.
My age next year will be 2 greater than my age last year.
My age last year was a multiple of 6 so my age next year will be 2 greater than a multiple of 6.
Within a reasonable human lifespan, I cannot find any square number that is 2 greater than a multiple of 6.
Could either Postdog or swannbaker help me out?

I can see more than one possibility if the info about the ages is reversed, ie a square last year and a multiple of 6 next year.
Postdog has given the squares...it works if you set off from one of these
It's my birthday tomorrow and I will be 8 years old .
In March 2007 (last year) I was 6 years old ( a multiple of 6 )
In May 2009 (next year) I will be 9 years old ( a perfect square)
