This second week of May went much smoother and far more points have been picked up! I can now reveal the latest chosen Link Words of burgess (aka Alan) and they are:

Bottle NOSE(D)
Glass BLOWER/BLOWING
ARMOUR Plate/ Plate ARMOUR
TUNING Fork

In summary, TUNING FORK proved a popular choice and brought its own rewards. But before awarding points, may I add my best wishes to Alibobs on her birthday!

MORE TEXT WAITING TO BE PASTED IN!

I noticed that the hints to the theme this week were spotted ~ but it didnt appear to help, since the first five entrants failed to score and it came to cliffyg to draw first blood with ARMOUR PLATE. He was followed seconds later by wickedtongue with TUNING FORK! That brings bonus points to two former champions!

Within the required two minutes came Dinkypuzzled with another TUNING FORK (to also qualify for a bonus point). The two-minute rule was only used the once this round! The next to fall was BOTTLE NOSED, picked up at 9.10sm by Entrant # 16 in the form of sarumite , who also predicted TUNING FORK! YES, this is yet another week when the devious sarumite becomes Hot Shot of the Round. You cant keep a good man down!
***CHEERS ALL ROUND ! ***
...and me...that Alan is a force to be reckoned with!!!...don't know how Reg did, I refuse to check!!!! This is getting worse Alan!!!....wait until next week..war is declared!!!!!
Nil points for me this Eurovision weekend, thanks for the birthdat greetings Crofter and thanks to you and burgess for the fun that is MM links!
Well done Sarumite....with gritted teeth!!!...and everyone else. Thanks Crofter...and Alan - I suppose!...:-(

The last link of GLASS BLOWER withstood detection until 12.39, when the international challenge arrived from North America and Mr Ont-ice picked up the last bonus point. This is not the first time this doughty pair has fought their way through snowdrifts to claim the last link word!

Many entrants picked up the odd word, but two of you managed double strikes and they were chriss & regward to deserve special mention in despatches!

New to the Links game were fordward, Meadow Lane & marched and we wish them Welcome!

League Table for May (so far)

FOUR POINTS: Dinkypuzzled
THREE POINTS: gen2 & sarumite
Nine others have amassed a total of two points and are well placed to strike next week

Until then this is crofter signing off for another week.

Hope you enjoyed the competition. If you did ~ remember this weeks theme and KEEP BRITAIN TIDY and a message to the Ont-ices NEVER EAT YELLOW SNOW!

See you all same time, same place, same jokes ~ BUT a different set of link words to predict! Week 3 is when my abacus tends to get overheated!! ............. :o)
Looks like anothe big fat ZERO. Still running true to form though. :-)
I know you are much older than me Alan but I thought we might be on the same wavelength a bit. Week 2 and still no points !!!!! Well at least it shows you are not helping me ! I will try MUCH harder next week . Love from Much Younger Sister Kay
Pauline, hello. Forgot to check your score. Was it as bad as mine ? Kay
Jools...you haven't got the other half gloating though!!
Kay ... a big fat zero...what is it with that MUCH MUCH MUCH older brother of yours!!!...but Reg says he's okay, only cos he guessed two!!
No that's true - He couldn't be bothered while we were away - not that it help me much. :-)
Big fat chunky zero for me too!
C'mon it had to be fork handles surely!!!
Not too unhappy this week with Mr. O picking up a bonus point, but then a guy's entitled to pick up a bonus point on his birthday. Two more weeks to go with crafty Burgess so maybe Mr. O is more on that wave length than moi.
Thanks to Burgess for some head scratching and puzzling.
Thanks to Crofter and his over-heated abacus.
Congrats to friend Sarumite who is skating close to the wind re his Free Fall club membership.
To everyone who took part thanks for the fellowship and the laughter.
The O-ices
PS. To Crofter: The snow's gone for another year but will bear in mind your excellent advice.

..... or FOUR CANDLES? Yes, they were considered!
big fat zero(hangs head in shame) well done sarumite, guess my plan to turn you into mary poppins failed or did it succeed? not sure now.
thanks crofter for the scoring and burgess for the words, see what Monday brings
jan

Thanks, burgess and crofter. I'm delighted to have scored another zero this week, because now I shan't feel so bad being unable to take part next week! (Shall be sailing in Scotland and can't figure out any way of being with you).

I'll bring back a haggis to share in the shrubbery the week after. (:-)>
Consideration not good enough Mr Crofter--I thought I was on a cert!!;O) B
Wow .. I'm a hotshot, even after being nobbled and ill -treated by the laydeees in the shrubbery ! As crofter said -you can't keep a good man down ... please note: Pauline, Jan, Evsajo, Barbara, Christiana et al !!! :O)

Well we both scored points Ont-ice, so I won't throw you out from the club, if you also look after my membership!

Think much older brother is doing a super job evsajo ... it's just a shame we can't keep him on for another month.

Thanks for yet another top drawer presentation of the situation crofter .. if the abacus does finally fail, I can send over a few counters from the tiddly winks box! ☺☺
Just noticed its Alibobs birthday too,so hope you have a very Happy Birthday. Sarumite congratulations , obviously we women need new tactics in the shrubbery ! Thanks Crofter for your invaluable work and Thank You (with clenched teeth and a false smile) Burgess, my much much older brother. Look forward to next weeks words. Am off to daughter in Brixham tommorrow until Friday, so will be back in time for shrubbery
Just come in and checked - alas no score, Congratulations Sarumite and all those others in the charts. Really must think up new strategy for the shrubbery. Perhaps we need to replace the marmite sarnies with something providing more brain power. Ladies we have the week ahead to draw up battle plans
