Finger puzzle.

This morning I had just 3 fingers of one man in my house but no other bodypart. They were real human fingers. There was another person present but because I had done nothing illegal he didn't call the police. How did I manage this?

You found the fingers on the window sill where the burglar had tried to enter but the window had slammed down onto his hand. He had run off.

Answer. A postman pushed a letter thru my letterbox and 3 fingers poked in.
