I can’t remember the rhymes we used to keep the rhythm going but I know we ‘juggled’ them one at a time straight at the wall, and then overarm, and then we bounced them under our knee at the wall, and then one against the wall and one up vertically - so all clever stuff!

So a new hobby during lockdown - I’ve bought two balls (a pack of three tennis balls actually so I might get really clever again) and the garden wall is about to take a battering!

Is anyone else reverting to childhood - or is it just me the lockdown’s getting to? ;o)

Yes I did, got quite good at it for a while. There were several jingles I've forgotten although do remember

Under Mother Brown, Under Mother Brown
under under under under
Under Mother Brown

Then repeated with over, upsy, dropsy, slamsy

I can still do it now, a bit like riding a bike, never forgotten
Eenie meenie macka racka
Ooray dominacker
Dominacker chikaracker
Om pom push
I may take the elastic from my knickers and do American skipping x
i'd like to be there when your neighbour refuses to give you your ball back ...
That was French skipping when I were in the playground, mally
Oh yes, loved it , great memories evoked here :0)
Tried this recently with an expanded waistline reminiscing with my granddaughter, well obviously it didn’t happen! ;0)
Yes, I remember. This was one of my fave childhood games along with French skipping, blackjacks, statues & hopscotch.
elf and safety will be up in arms rowan, they can't half bruise your knuckles
My wrist bones were black and blue from those clackers. Kept playing with them, though
They have them on ebay, I don't think my arthritis will let me move my arm that fast but I could keep them going a whole break time
Jacks
Five stones, double Dutch skipping" all in together girls this fine weather girls"
We called that French Skipping, AuntPolly
My favourite was the balls against the wall. I truly impressed my youngest a few years ago with a couple of tennis balls on the house wall -I was a bit rusty but it came back pretty quickly.
Matthew mark Luke and John
Next door neighbor carry on

Then the person next to you would do the same and you’d run round to the back of the line to wait for your next go
I loved playing the balls up the wall, we also used to put them in a pair of tights and stand against the wall and wallop them upside, downside, under leg, and underarm. I can't remember the song though, but remember many bruises.
Well done for getting this far without mentioning the obvious.
