What started as a perfectly happy Friday has ended with 3 bits of devastating news, first I get a message saying two friends are splitting up after 31 years together, followed by a phone call from another friend ( same circle) who’s daughter 38 has been diagnosed with breast cancer and then another call saying someone I know has had to have 8 inches of bowel removed because it’s cancerous .....
Happy Friday night or what ?

Try to look on the positive side:

People who're splitting up after 31 years together probably haven't been very happy in each other's company for quite some while. Now they've made the big step towards regaining their happiness, which might well the the best possibly thing that they could do.

Similarly, people who die from cancer usually do so because the diagnosis came too late. If your friend's daughter has been diagnosed in the early stages of the disease, it's actually good news in a way.

The same applies to the person with bowel cancer. The hospital have obviously decided that it's treatable (even if with some nasty surgery), so things could have been much worse.

Seeing the positive side of things needn't stop you enjoying a few drinks tonight though ;-)

It was just ‘bump, bump, bump’ with phone calls Chris and you’re right ,they’d outgrown one another, if I have a drink it’ll be to wish them all well, it’s about them , not me x
I am sorry to hear all of this Bobbi, not what you want to hear.

I wish them all well, and I think you deserve a drink.

Plenty of prayers, I think, Bobbi ;-)

My uncle went to the dentist with what he thought was an abscess. Turned out he had stage 4 cancer. He got the all clear a few weeks back.

Quite a few people I know well, including one of my best friends and the children's father died (not the same person, I don't know how to word it to make that clear). Another friend died yesterday while out for a jog.

We've pretty much had a very crappy 6 months.

No alcohol for me though. Coca Cola with lots of ice will have to do.

Always seems to be the way in life Bobbie. Never just one thing that knocks you, its always several at the same time...like waiting for a bus and then 3 come at once.
Cant blame you for having a few wobbly pops.
