the images just get crater and crater
The craters were obviously quite big for the cow having to jump over them.
It's just a rock floating in space and so happens to be n orbit around us. Plenty more out there.
And we'll get to them in due course.
Not to more than the very closest ones, we won't, OG. The chances of any man-made object making it to a body outside the Solar System and still being in communication with Earth are somewhere between nil and zero.
This is 'news'?
Its just more of the same - rocks and ice, better

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand

Pessimism NJ. Voyagers are flying out. New Horizons is telling us about snowmen. Science uncovers and tech advances. Need unmanned relay/repeaters or even 'deep space 9' stations on the highways created to relay stuff back.
It's progress ... and where would the world be without that?
Did I pick it up wrong on the news or are they going to try to “grow something” on the moon.

That depends on what you call "progress". It may have brought penicillin, but it has also brought mechanised warfare, and a polluted environment.

Taking the length of your arm as a measure of time, one stroke of a nail file across your finger nail and the amount of nail removed represents the time humanity has lived on the planet, and what an awful mess we are now making of it, so some say, why stop at that, why not go out and eff-up the universe too?

There is now so much scrap metal and plastics orbiting the Earth, (debris from rockets in only 50 years), that we are now having to work out ways of trying to clear it away because of the danger it imposes.

There are far too many requirements for the future of humankind here on Earth to attend to before bothering about space travel. (imo)
A truly Muslim free zone ..... for now!
Khandro, But in the opinion of Stephen Hawking, in order to ensure the survival of the species, human beings will need to colonise other planets.
It's not the goal that benefits us, but the new technologies developed to reach the goal.
Like erm ..... Vacuum toilets!
I am gobsmacked Theland
Rockrose, why are you gobsmacked?
Rockrose - The journey to the moon gave us amazing new technologies. Like a pen that writes upside down. Honestly. The Russians just used a pencil!
