There's a Catbrain Lane and a Catbrain Hill here. Are local felines famous for their intelligence?

Evening Sandy....you have been very quiet of late ?....hope all is OK !
Good to hear from you Sandy, not sure of the answer to your question though.
Name history[edit]
The name "Catbrain" derives from the Middle English "cattes brazen"[2] which is a reference to the rough clay mixed with stones that is characteristic soil type of the location. It has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.[3]
Hello

I used to wonder about the Catskill mountains in the US?!

I am not sure about this idea http://www.youandmeow.co.uk/

Isn't it a local delicacy ?

You'd have to be seriously barking to use a Cafe overrun with someone elses cats

I like cats but there are limits.
Baldric - is barking the best word to use for a person who frequents cat cafes?

You have your answer, Sandy.....but lovely to see you....hello......xx
Hi Sandy, phew, good to hear from you. Was beginning to wonder what had happened to our wanderer. Hope you are well, and ship shape and Bristol fashion. :))
Great to see you back , fit and well I hope ?
Welcome back, Sandy. It's good to 'see' you.
Bristol has form for strange road names.

Here is another genuine one.

Hi Sandy. I thought you were still on your pilgrimage.
Re. the OP; there's a Catbrain quarry between Stroud and Birdlip in Gloucestershire, but I don't know why it is so named.
