Met a gentleman out walking ,said to him how are you and are you well .He defentootly knew he was hard of hearing but the rest had me baffled

I haven't been drinking and I am confused too.

I thought this might contain hints on how to live with someone who's hard of hearing - which I could do with now - but I'm also baffled.
