Thursday. Quite mild outside this morning 10°C. Not bad for 8th January! Yesterday would have been warm too, but the wind had teeth. No wind this morning so far.

Out and about today, might take lunch while I'm out.

Have a happy day everyone. :o}

Morning WBM. I'm sure you're starting earlier...
I actually went to bed at 10pm last night. But up again at 2am...can't sleep I'm afraid.

Have a lovely day all that follow. Apologies, I'm not feeling chatty. xx

Morning cupid, xxx
Sorry about the delay replying, I've been dealing with emails. Sleeplessness is not good is it. Any reason for it that you know?
Yes, an early start even for me! Woke up at 2.30.

Try and get some sleep. :-) xxx
I suspect it maybe a case of hi & bye Cupes.

G'day Boaty. Do ya need a cattle prod for the regulars?
Been doing reports for the government today. They think they need them but none are actually read. I know this because I submitted an incorrect one 18 mths ago. Received the 'putor generated email thanking me but never heard back from a real person to inform me I had stuffed up.
Oh well what else would I do with my time ;-)
Question Author
Afternoon oz. I think they are all comatose this morning.

I've had that with government departments. One return I sent was such nonsense it bore no relation whatsoever to the subject. I too got a thank you for the prompt submission. You're right. Nobody actually reads them. Some time in the future someone may discover it and find an 'important' communication is in fact a rather rude poem! :-)

Did you have a good evening with Mrs. oz and offspring?
Did have a good evening thanks Boaty. Youngest Oz is still camping with friends and water skiing, lucky little blighter, T'was eldest son that returned with Mrs Oz.
Good news is FIL was paroled from hospital and is on the mend. Fingers crossed.
Myself and offspring #3 didn't get into trouble when Mrs Oz arrived home, touch wood.

So where are you off to today, what ya going to have for lunch?
Question Author
That's good news about FIL mate.

Youngest oz has found a lake with a slope has he! :o}

Well done on passing muster on Mrs' Oz's return. I'll bet you're glad you put the other two bottles in the chiller! :o}

I'm going over to Stroud again, :o\ I may well go to the Black Horse at Amberly, up on the common for lunch. It has stunning views across the valley. If you google it you will see what I mean. It depends on the weather. Storms due today, in which case it will probably be the TA.
A lake with a slope hey Boaty, that would mean a "puddle with a chinaman" if I were to use local racist lingo,,,but I wouldn't.
A pub with a view is always good, but it's the quality of the beer and food that count,, Ok,, ambiance as well, (did I spell that correctly, never know with US spell check). No matter how many times I reset spillchek to UK English it always reverts back to US. Annoys the heck out of me it does.
I'm going on a quick tour of the Black Horse, back soon.
Good morning, first day of my annual leave & I've been awake since 4.30 :-0 ah well I can always have a nana nap later on lol
Question Author
I meant for his water skiing oz! :o}

Morning becca xxx Only to be expected on the first day. Nothing wrong with a nana nap later. :o} How's it going?
Question Author
Yes oz. You spelt ambiance right mate! The yanks can't spell anything right!
Very well Thankyou, got a few errands to do today, getting a few bits ready for hols then visiting my parents & then my beautiful grandchildren, how about you all well?
Question Author
I'm still breathing thanks becca. That's a result! :o}

All my grandchildren are all grown up now. Make the most of them while you can! :o}
Ah well that's a good sign!!! Yes they do grow up so fast, I bet they look bigger when I get back I'll miss them
G'day Bec, before you know it you will be in "holiday mode".
Hope you enjoy your day. Quite enjoy a "Nanna nap" myself occasionally.

This is what the website for the Black Horse Inn told me Boaty.

The Black Horse
AMBERLEY, GLOUCESTERSHIRE
We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but The Black Horse is currently closed until further notice.

Hope they just haven't updated their website recently, otherwise you may have to make a plan "B".
Question Author
I'm sure you will becca. They do indeed grow so fast. It only seems like last week 'i was teaching the eldest to cook. He's 26 and got his own house now!
G'day ozzy yes just need to get out of work mode, I'll prob sleep the entire holiday haha hope you are well.
Question Author
Plan B it is then. It did need some updating. In winter it's the best time to do it. In summer it gets crowded very quickly. It has no car park ans on a little lane, so if you're not there early forget it...unless you are walking.

I've just remembered; I've got to be here for a delivery. So that's today's plan up the swanee. The meeting in Stroud will have to be a phone call. With the weather report it could well be serendipity!
All good thanks Bec, been in holiday mode for a couple of weeks now, only 4 weeks left, sob sob. Then it's back to the "same old, same old".
Did I ever mention my daughter has the same name Bec?
Only the best people are called that!;-) 6 weeks holiday!? Wow you lucky thing!!
Hmmm Boaty, Might have to get something in the oven and something in the fridge ;-)
