Well this is 'King Fordward' here once more for week 5 - the last one. Again my thanks to Gen2 for keeping things flowing.

What now? This week our Bowling Green closed for the season, that means it is winter and time for the Carpet to go down for the Carpet Bowling season during the dark nights.

At the beginning of the week the good lady and I were in York for a few days, I have to say it’s a nice place with plenty to do. Our first visit was to the Air Museum at Elvington. There were some excellent displays with plenty aircraft on show, my favourite being the Nimrod. I worked on them in ’76. Our next visit was to the Minster …what a building, then a city tour on the Red Bus followed by a trip on the York Wheel with some lovely views from the top. Finally a wee river cruise. All squeezed into just a few nice days.

Well that’s me finished blethering for the month so on with the game.

According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I shall follow this rule on word length, in that each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!

Each of the selected link words may go in front of, or behind my challenge word To make a new longer word or to make a well-known phrase or saying. The combination will never be a person's name.

The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when gen2 will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.
You did well to avoid the flooding, Your Majesty. My sister lives in York and she told me that, although English Heritage said that it was still open, a pair of waders were required to get into Clifford's Tower.
