thanks to everyone who have already helped in this quiz ,just 4 left to do no.31 agreed,it's not available beside castle stack [7] no.38 more than thou shalt report in the middle of winter [4] no.46 two unknown long scots are on the scent [5-5] no.48 heads. you only get half-crowns for that old letter [4] thanks for any help

thankyou BIGJACK how could you answer so quickly ,i've puzzled over this quiz for weeks ,you're obviously much cleverer than me ,just one left now ,when i saw this quiz advertised i thought it would be fairly easy but i must admit i haven't heard of several of the answers ,thanks again!
