I'm on me bike. Luckily it's dry!
Thanks, Cruciverbalist!

Pumped up for this one ... thank you C...
(hope it proves to be as good as La Tour D'Hanoi was!)

Just got in from work....j'etais litteralement sur ma bicyclette, et, bien sur, il pleurait! ... (sorry if my French is as rusty as my bike)
Told you it was rusty. That should (I think) be "pleuvait"!

A fairly pleasant cycle ride in the park, though I had to resort to a bit of Googling for 26D & the landmark was not in the format I expected when I read the preamble.
Nice to be able to freewheel after all that digging about last week. Quelle domage that the preamble was so explicit (for a change !) - after entering 23 Down/27 Across it was possible to fill the 'last' 3 letters of 4 Down before even looking at the clue !
Spoke too soon .. saddle-ly this one did not quite ring my bell.
As Mysterons said, an almost over explicit preamble rendering the final outcome guessable very early on, coupled with a number of not-too-testing clues.
Never mind, leaves plenty of time for a sunny weekend in the garden.

Well Deviant gets the yellow jersey. I spent an embarrassing amount looking for the Arc de Triomphe before I bothered to count up the letters!
Yes even I found this one a little too easy
Thankfully, no mountains to climb with this one.
Finished it in record time (for me) so now I'm just enjoying the unseaonably good weather while waiting for EV.

Agree with the consensus - finished in about an hour, apart from 21a. I have been out and about with Mrs bobbycollins all day with the clue in my head. The penny dropped mid-afternoon over a beer at the front in sunny (yippee) Cleveleys Not the first time that this definition has held me up!
Plenty of time now for Spectator, EV and Mephisto....bring 'em on.

I agree that it was a very easy puzzle apart from a handful of devious clues, such as the one referred to by bobbycollins. Enjoyable nevertheless, but I was slightly disappointed at the absence of any other French localities en route. All I can see are a French départment , a French valley and a French moor, and they may be accidental. Any others?

thanks c
agree with all the above - prob one of the fastest solves (approx 1 hour) and i guessed the landmark and how it was to be represented before starting. (21ac was my last one too!)
maybe we are in for a stinker next week!
Finished the puzzle easily enough, but still cannot see the landmark!
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Translate the puzzle's title into English.....that should give a big hint

This map should help with directions - you should go South of Quai Branly, but North of Avenue de La Motte-Picquet, West of Avenue de La Bourdonnais but East of Avenue de Suffren - if you get lost, ask a gendarme.
I got lost , so asked a gendarme called Captain Scarlet & he led me there. En route, he kept complaining of hearing strange voices...........!!
Thanks Bobbycollins & Mysterons, the penny dropped when I got to work at 2. Had seen 1st part on sunday but wasn't expecting this "appropriate form"

Mmmm, 3 answers still to get when you lot all finished it in about an hour :-(
11dn - can see 'field' but gone wrong somewhere. Other letters I've got are G,R,?,E
22dn - got D (or A),?,L,A,?
21ac - ?,E,R
(OK, 4 to get but figured 22ac would appear if I filled 11 & 22 in!)
Any hints most appreciated!

21a: Def = A
27a: You are close, but the answer is not RICE
22d: Think 'political' for party
