Just have the basic Sky package and half of the films ie. Movies 1,3,5,7 and 9 and costs 32.00/monthly. Set hard drive to record Sky Movies 3 the other night and when I cam to watch it the first half hour was missing as it was asking for a pin number. This was at 8.00 and the film was Layer Cake. at 8.30 the picture came on but with first half hour missing ..useless.

Question is, I'm bothered about putting pin in case I get charged for something I'm already paying too much for, so will I be charged if I put a pin in on Sky 3 at 8.00 pm when I pay for that channel anyway?

Camioneur, I think the pin is a type of "parental protection" before I certain time/water shed (i.e. 8:30 pm)
no, you don't get charged, the pin number is a protection that only you can put in so's the kids can't watch the bad films !
it's only on sky box office that you willbe charged but the message will come up saying you will be billed for this if you proceed.

if you copy the film from your sky planner using the copy unction it will now not ask for the pin so stops this happening but if you watch it live it will ask to enter the pin after a set time to continue watching.

i did the same thing before they updated the pin thing and i now only use the copy function to stop this happeing as i am single and don;t ave any rugrats
you can now programme sky plus so you don't need to put in your pin number everytime ,i'm sure it is under settings
