Yes i did it once when i was younger, i don't remember what the dream was, i just remember a big bang and then waking up sitting bolt upright in bed with my heart racing.
Yes, I do this a lot. Basically I am able to wake myself up from nightmares at the point where I'm most scared but it invaribly means that when I do that I sit bolt upright. I pressume it's the sudden sitting up that gets me to open my eyes and realise it's all a dream or something... or maybe I'm getting prepared to run away! Lol, I don't know, but yes, it does happen to me....
My husband did it the other night sat bolt upright and shouted out 'BRISTOL'. He actually remembered he'd done it and said he had a nightmare he was trying to get home and the new Severn Bridge was closed and he was shouting about that. Nutter!
