Nothing to survive here, Red. Sparkling water - that was it! I hope the 2 of you had something a little more exciting - my money is on that ;) In bed way before the witching hour. Never heard a solitary firework round here, so it was not just me turning my back on the celebrations.

Ready to embrace the New Year and whatever it may bring just one day at a time. Annual mammogram for me on 3rd so hoping for less rain and wind on the drive there and back.

Haave a good day and enjoy some hound walking x

Good morning all. I was tucked up in bed well before midnight. No sore head and nausea this morning.

Nothing to survive her either. I was in bed early watching TV.  Damp miserable day here! Am off for a walk!

Good morning, Red and all.

All the best for 24!

Take care

Good morning. Was up until 2.00am but that's nothing unusual.  Not a drop to drink of the alcoholic  variety.  Stayed up to watch Rick Astleys New Year show which was excellent.   Chatted online to a good friend for a while.   Turned off the sound of the London fireworks display!  What a racket from the music, etc!!

Happy New Year to all.  The sun is shining here in a clear blue sky.

Oh and watched Daniel Craig's last Bond film. Just because he's my ideal man and to ogle!!  I'm not a Bond fan!

Good Morning and Happy New Year to every one.

I too was up past 2am. Saw a bit of the fire works...yes, very noisy, some of Rick Astley...more of Jools Holland. Just one glass of Malbec...and 2 champagne truffles. A few pops of local fireworks...I think the stormy weather kept people in.

I avoid Jools Pasta.  Just can't stand his awful shout voice .  I watched it for a while though when Paul Jones was on.

It's good nowadays that New Year on the tele isn't all about Scotland.  I could never understand why we had to tolerate Bagpipes Scots guards and the awful Andy Stewart.

Just back from a beautiful walk, the sun is shining but it's cold so we had coffee as well.

i was in bed by 1015 with 1 drink in me! Himself stayed up and said there were a few fireworks but not much.

Happy New Year to you and all!  No hangovers here either and in  bed about 11.30 (the dogs insisted  on  going to bed and snoring pointedly).

Oi! Countrylover - my mum used to play with Andy Stewart when she was a kid in Govan - actually, she said his mum was pretty keen on being 'a cut above' but that he was OK.  White Heather Club was de rigeur when I was growing-up.

I just wish I could go for a walk.  Beautiful countryside surrounds me and I'm so envious when Mr L and Poppy go out walking every day.

Poppy is our  dog!

I remember the White Heather Club Jourdaine.  I've nothing against the Scots apart from Bagpipes, but never could work out why New Year's Eve was devoted to Scotland. ;0)

I love the pipes and am looking forward to Burns night so we can play them for 5 hours nonstop

Torture!!

They're OK in the distance.

Nope full volume love both the traditional and the more modern use like the red hot chilli pipers

Mind you I'd rather listen to him  ^ than the awful dirge 'Mull of Kintyre'

I don't mind a bit of piping...I love the mournful sound. There's a young piper who performs in the city centre here...he's very good.

I've had a bad back for over 2 weeks now...and miss regular walking, if only in the city centre. Hopefully I'll get out tomorrow.
