No.
How is this any different from a 'Gulliver' post (apart from providing a link)?
How would JSO be calling the shots when the money has not come from them?

A donor might donate to various causes but just because Labour is one of them, it doesn't follow that Labour must support all the other ones.

the conservatives are funded by oligarchs, PPE profiteers and suspected money launderers as well as all manner of corrupt interests who have done real damage to this country

labour has received a donation from someone who is trying to use his wealth to advance a cause he believes in rather than profiteering and corruption

i am quite happy for them to receive this and in fact would rather the party be funded by such people than by the parasites and till-raiders who uphold the conservative party
The ‘cause he believes in’ is the source of his wealth, untitled.

ZM: "How is this any different from a 'Gulliver' post (apart from providing a link)? " - because I will debate the issue, answer followup questions etc. Gulliver never does.
//labour has received a donation from someone who is trying to use his wealth to advance a cause he believes in rather than profiteering and corruption//

HAHAHAH, the nativity.

Well for a start its happening NOW, not 6 years ago. Plus its only the first post on the topic.

Much as you would like to shut the topic down it aint gonna happen. Nice try though.

untitled: "labour has received a donation from someone who is trying to use his wealth to advance a cause he believes in rather than profiteering and corruption " - Yes but donators expect things later, as you correctly point out. His demands will be related to JSO activities, which will be unreasonable pie in the sky things that will cost us all dearly. He will also demand that it is easier for them to disrupt the daily lives of ordinarly people just going about their business without state interferance. etc
Using his wealth to advance a cause he believes in also increases his wealth. A win win situation. No flies on that bloke!
So we would have a government that accepts donations from dodgy organisations/persons – that could never happen under the Tories.
Mr Starmer and his party have vowed to discontinue North Sea Gas and oil exploration and investment if they get into power 'You scratch my back Starmer etc' Who gains by that?
Next thing we know, if they get into power, they will probably be making entreaties to Mr Putin for cheap gas.

Trouble is with Starmer he will align himself to any fashionable loony trend on the go at the time like women with a penis ,trans issues, etc
I notice not a single tory has disputed what I said about their party's donors...

i prefer Dale Vince any day of the week.
The thread is about Labour, not the Tories.

Stop the whataboutery it really isnt an argument.

he makes his money by selling electricity from wind farms... i might be mistaken but I cannot find anything dubious about Ecotricity

so long as he pays his taxes and pays his workers fairly then good on him
so let me get this clear
If you donate to the labour party
and then
give some money to a homeless illegal immigrant begging on the street
then the homeless illegal immigrants will be ruling the country if labour win the next election

Am I Right ?
You miss the point.

It really doesnt matter how good you think his business is. What matters is that by donating to a party that will increase his business if they do what he asks then that is a vested interest. Something you keep harping on about the Tories.

So, as an example, if he donates to Sir Kier and then asaks him to shut down new oil fields than the eco business will grow and he will become richer. Through Sir Kiers actions (who also got paid via his party being funded).
ahh yes but what if he truly believes that that greener energy is the only way to save the planet and he is doing all within his means to make that happen
I know what a vested interest is and i understand that they are a reality of politics in britain. it's a question of which you think is better.
the irony of conservatives spontaneously discovering a moral objection to vested interests is extremely funny
