Here's A Challenge For Abers For The Weekend.

Over the weekend note how many articles on specific but broad subjects you find that agree with your thinking and those that you don't agree with. And where you first read or heard about the article.

The range of subjects include:
Brexit
Public sector pay
NHS
Foreign aid
North Korea
Natural disasters
US politics

Then if you feel up to it:
Strictly
Reality tv
Celebrity news/gossip

I think it will be an interesting exercise in identifying how we see the world we live in.

I think it will be interesting, especially where people get their news from. Left leaning or right leaning they sort of have their own 'go to' places to read.

I rather like to have a foray into 'enemy' publications now and then. It gives me an insight on alternative views.

i get my news mostly from the BBC and AB, when I can be bothered to look in.

A lot of the postings in news (where I mostly lurk) are from posters with strongly held long term views (I admit mine are as well) and seem only to reinforce those views.

I accept that this is a human trait, that we want to 'show our colours' and convince others we are right and that sort of thing but I am really interested in seeing if, when having to analyse the information we use if they are able to see the other side. ... sort of thing.

I don't know that I have expressed it quite right but hopefully it will become clearer lol

I suppose it's a bit like *a*only reads left wing publications. That reinforces *a* world/national/local views and dismisses right wing views without fully understanding and vice versa.
