Good Morning Early Birds!

Sunday. Frosty this morning. I hope it warms up a bit, it's the Light up a Life service at Minchinhampton church this afternoon. I'm looking forward to that. Always an emotional event, not just for me, but for everyone there. Then it's back to the hospice for a while for a wee get together. Once again always a special time for everyone.

All the usual running about this morning though. Life goes on.

Had my grandaughter yesterday, I stuck her head on to a fairies body and put her on top of the Christmas tree, she said ... it's me!!! Laughed so much, she's a tonic.

I hope she does get some sleep. Best thing if you're not feeling good. My sleep pattern is a bit haywire at the moment. The last 2 days, I haven't got up till 9! Hardly slept at all last night and couldn't get back to sleep after I woke at 4. Tried reading for a bit but couldn't concentrate. My mind keeps drifting.

I don't mind Gen. Makes me sound like I know a lot!
Managed to ice the Christmas cake yesterday. It needs to dry out before I can decorate it. It's been made ages and now I'm down to the last 3 weeks as usual.

Gen you are then. :o} That cake sounds nice. I haven't made one since the boys were little. The last iced cake I did was for a friends birthday last year.

I used to make at least one cake for the Penistone Show each year, but the same woman always won, no matter what her cakes looked like. I think she knew the judges!
I only started to make wine again recently, too.

I used to make a lot of wine, and beer. Elderberry for red and parsnip for a lovely dry white. Too much like hard work now! ;o}

I used to make dandelion for my Dad. He liked the lemon balm too.
My fingers used to end up looking like I smoked 80 a day from the dandelion flowers. I've made a port-style red from Elderberry/blackberry and it's supposed to have Damsons, but they're hard to get now, so I use sloes.
