No. I pressed "on" about 10 mins ago. mr BM is out. So I can heat myself to sauna level at my heart's content.
I was forced to put the heating on the other day - Frankie is a radiator hugger and was staring at the cold radiator meowing his head off.

The main benefit is that my stock of red is at a better drinking temperature. I dislike cold red wine. Am looking on this as a benefit of Winter.
Ours went on at 3.00pm today. I sat outside in the sunshine until the house warmed up. It was freezing! (in the house). It's nice and cosy now, though.
No, mines on. Just comeback from Majorca today.

My humble abode is warming up nicely ☺☺☺
Our heating is thermostatically controlled. I did notice that it was on yesterday morning.
So is ours but we switch it off. We should leave it on at 18 degrees really.
I'm not sure I understand the point of thermostatically controlled heating that you turn off......
We are trying to save money I suppose.
I said the other day that I was going to put the heating on. HE said "put a jumper on". I said "Will that be on top of my fleece?". He forgets I am here all day with the cats who have "wrong side of the door" syndrome and constantly need it opening.

I was really trying to hold out until the end of the month but fear my advancing years demands comfort rather than principles.
Well we all are advancing in years RSVP. I think it is just cold atm.

Although I should be more hardy having been brought up in a house that had NO central heating and ice on the INSIDE of the windows.
I've been tempted. Particularly as I have the snotties and am feeling a bit sorry for myself. But I'm holding out.
I'm a bit sheepish to admit mine has been on since early September.
What pasta said :)
BM...I was brought up in a house where the thermostat was frequently set to 80 deg...my father loved heat! Of course, during a NY winter the snow drifts were often more than a few feet high...and Jack frost visited often.
Ours went on about 7.30... Opened the fireplace up in the front room, (two more to go) so getting the chimney sweep in soon. Open fire hopefully by Christmas
Trish put ours on the other night and it's been operating on the thermostat ever since.
Like you barmaid we had no central heating and the house was always freezing in the morning. When we finally had it installed getting up at 04.00 to go to work was almost a pleasure.

Barmaid I hear you! Was brought up in a huge Victorian house, no CH and well remember Jack Frost on the inside of my bedroom window - (large sash type - not particularly well fitting with visible gaps twix pane and wooden frame.) As the youngest I was on the third floor but any hopes of 'hot air rising' were never going to happen cos the entire place had no CH - just the (very) occasional fire. Complain about being cold and got told to do some work in the orchard.
rsvp - are we siblings?!!! lol
