Does anyone know how to say Good Morning in Polish, or something just as friendly and cheery ? I am working in Llanelli for the next few days, and there are lots living there ( ! )

Bore da is more appropriate. Teach them welsh!

Actually Tambo, that is not a bad idea !

When I worked there last summer, I found quite a few families where the parents spoke only broken English, while their kids spoke good Welsh, having been attending Welsh-medium schools !

But my Welsh is on a par with my Polish, Serbo-Croat and Japanese...ruddy lementable !
our linguist aptitude is lamentable, and it shows in the French Open tennis. Most competitors speak french except for our Andy. Not his fault, I blame the schools :(
Everyone seems to say 'Ciao' nowadays, and as it's not of either of your languages you should sound 'cool', (which we know you are :0)

The difficulty with our schools, unlike the ones on the Continent, is that we teach our kids to pass French O Level ( GCSE ) and they teach their kids to speak another language.

Its been a problem for all of my lifetime and its showing no sign of changing yet.
