Sunday. I've been awake since 1.15, after nodding off at 11.30. An hour and three-quarters all in one go. Not bad! :o}

A clear sky with stars twinkling merrily...well, it was, just looked out again and it's clouded over. Such is life.

I'm going to have an applejack pork steak cooked in cider with a jacket potato, some cheese in the bottom and creamed mushrooms on top for lunch today. I must make some bread too.

It's an old favourite of my own devising. Vera loved it. A jar of cider to wash it down too, of course!

I quite often find the best meals are the ones you invent yourself, occasionally they are the worst too.

Doubt I'll ever get back to the mother country, but if I do, the knock on the door will be one bedraggled antipodean, with bowl in hand ;-)
