My own view is the parents are making things worse for themselves by this wrangling.

Sandy...this bit puzzles me ....."Both parents have equal legal rights to the body, so the coroner was unable to reach a decision"

I have always understood that if you died without issue, and were not married, your parents remained your next-of-kin and if both survive, its the father that has precedence.

But perhaps I am wrong here ?
They should both be ashamed of themselves.
The judge is giving both parents every chance to try and resolve their differences but having got this far I doubt a suitable compromise will be reached. No half measures on an issue like this.

A grave matter indeed...
Mamy...I agree...disgraceful. As I remember the biblical story, Solomon advised cutting the baby in half....not sure if that can be applied to a corpse though.

The father won the case, if 'won' in the right word here.

Mother abandoned her claim,so I would say an agreement of sorts has been reached.

Pity it had to get so far.
