I see know nancy=French but it is tenuous and I don't like it as a clue Why not "The French to a point took off ?

I see what you are saying Danny by" too easy"

Ironically in the same crossword I am announced today as a winner when I got an answer wrong "steps" instead of "seeds" -a question I put on AB a couple of weeks ago. Seems that whoever checks the answers doesn't look carefully as to their correctness
