Why do the media, TV, magazines, supermarkets etc, tell us how to cook a turkey, pork, make mince pies and Xmas pudding every year?

Dont they know we have been doing it for years!!!!!!!

Sorry to disagree trt but there will be many people doing it for the first time.
new brides /wives etc
How are you going to fill magazines without any christmas recipes and the recipe cards in the supermarket are to prompt you to buy the ingredients on sale. Also all the time people are cooking something for the first time, or want to do something a bit different. Recipes are not all the same by any means.

There is a subsection titled 'Christmas' listed under Chatterbank topic heading where Christmas threads can be placed, it makes it much easier to avoid them if they are put there!
;-)
The dinner I'm cooking tonight I have cooked numerous times, I still check the recipe though.
What a disappointing rant.......
If you don't want to know then don't read or watch or listen! Its not compulsory.
Not everyone has been doing it for years.
I guess you or certainly some would rant if the media was packed full of salad recipes and dieting tips at this time of year.
>>>new brides /wives etc

Er, isn't that sexist?
I can hardly remember my kids' names half the time, certainly wouldn't be able to remember cooking times for something that I only cook once a year.
I've never cooked any of those things. I am going to cook bacon for a sandwich later - but I am never to sure how long I should put it in the oven for. I am dangerous with a frying pan.
Wolf, get yourself a George Foreman grill, they are brilliant for cooking bacon.
And every year at this time we get magazine articles on how to have a "Stress-free Christmas". Now quit your arguing, for God's sake:)
The best one is the Good food channel.. a whole month of Christmas cooking shows from every celebrity chef under the sun, all day long!
I like to see different takes on the traditional Christmas roast; different stuffings, different ways to serve the vegetables etc etc. I also try different Christmas cake recipes.
Just ignore all this, we'll be having steak and chips with a side salad, simple or what?
First Christmas rant trt?? What's up with you.......it's the 5th you know!
horseshoes: I can think of many ways to stuff and I've served vegetables in all sorts of ways - usually naked.
HOI, You trying to take my position on the "RANTS" ? You have to ask permission from the "Click" to do that!
