Well after a frustrating day where little seemed to go well or as planned, it was nice to sit down to this weeks ev. Less nice to see no numbers, but not as it turned out a disaster that soaked uP entire evening leaving me no time for the. Ironing. As ever with Jaguar the clues are clear, bar one I have not fully worked out yet, and good. The grid slotted together easily , mostly, although I made heavier weather of the top left quadrant than I should have.
anyway ironing, wineing and tving beckoning.
Thank you the author, jaguar.

Hello Cagey
I also am not an aficionado of this style of EV! A step of faith lead me to start populating the grid and voila, as frequently we see in its rightful position a guiding "light" lead me to resolving the clashes! A couple of words in the BRB that were unknown to me, but which I will attempt to bring into my everyday vocabulary!!!
Personally I am delaying the household chores in favour of a glass or two of an Australian Red wine!
Hello Doc & Cagey, I haven't yet done enough clues to start filling and am wary of what is needed to be done about the clashes. However, sad though it may seem, I do like this sort of grid and really enjoy working out where they all fit, even if it does entail at least one copy grid and a very good soft eraser!

I confess to actually enjoying these ones. It was the weight of chores that needed to be done (could not possibly send my 5 year old to school without an ironed shirt! Imagine the comments from the other parents!), that made me pause to decide whether to start it last night or not. As it was it only took between 5 and 10 answers to start populating the grid tentatively (tackling by lengths and approximate location of different (answer) starting letters in clues, happily arranged alphabetically by answer). Had the clues not been so ordered, would probably have passed until later in the week and would have ironed the back of all the shirts as well.
What did delay me was an almost obsessive idea that the crossword would be about something else.
I'm with the others as I also enjoy this type of puzzle.
I got a lot of answers on the initial read through & there being only 2 long
solutions & two 3 letter ones certainly helped.

Some lovely clueing from jaguar who, I'm happy to say, is a fellow ABER.
My aversion to this type of grid is that it becomes quite "pedestrian", the same as Sudoku. I will admit that the added dimension of clashes made it a bit more interesting, but after a couple were revealed, it wasn't too difficult to deduce where the others were.
Having a slurp or two to finish off the bottle of Australian Red I started yesterday. The ironing is out of sight in the Utility Room!
Toalisi, I had no idea Jaguar was also an AB contributor!
Knowing the identity of Jaguar, and having got some of the message, I was convinced for ages that I was looking for JIMSON-WEED (JIMS ON WEED)
Hmmpf...
Very similar to EV1087, Ambiguities by Piccadilly, in which ambiguities in a jigsaw puzzle were resolved by ensuring that the words "central row" appeared in the central row (from memory).
I think it said "This is correct". Anyway, thanks for the comments all, hopefully it was enjoyable.
Is there a couple of typo's in the clues: 4 3 letter anawer, but only 2 3letter spaces in the grid?
There should be four 3-letter spaces in the grid. Two are across, two down.

There are many 3 letter spaces in the grid, but there are 4 that are only three long.
We were away last weekend following another of the h-g's interests, Penguin Books, where he spent some time expounding the anti aging properties of crosswords. It was, therefore, an entirely appropriate week to win the pen... That aside, Teaser was a fun workout of a type that I particularly enjoy, many thanks Jim.
Congratulations Joglers!
Great EV thanks Jim, just the thing for non-number crunchers.
