Dedicated Sat Nav or Tablet?

My Tom Tom has died and to get the latest model equivalent will cost around £200.

I am considering a 7" tablet instead, such as the Samsung Galaxy and using suitable sat nav software.

Any opinions on this?

If you have a smart phone it's worth downloading the "NavFree" app.
I use it rather than the OH's TomTom as its more convenient to use
in conjunction with my phone's music library. Also available is its own
safety camera option which I've just downloaded. I'd recommend this
to anyone.
