I wish to ask you a Question: - "Is This True?"

I refer to the Pension Reality Check.
Are you aware of the following?

The British Government provides the following financial assistance: -

BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER (bearing in mind they worked hard and paid their Income Tax and National Insurance contributions to the British government all their working life) Weekly allowance: £106.00

IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN (No Income Tax and National Insurance contribution whatsoever) Weekly allowance: £250.00

BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER Weekly Spouse allowance: £25.00
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN Weekly Spouse allowance: £225.00

BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER Additional weekly hardship allowance £0.00

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN Additional weekly hardship allowance £100.00

A British old age pensioner is no less hard up than an illegal immigrant/refugee yet receives nothing

BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER TOTAL YEARLY BENEFIT £6,000
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN TOTAL YEARLY BENEFIT: £29,900

Sad isn't it, as I dont know any other Country that offers this service?
It’s about time we put our own people first.

Sorry. My Rant for the Day!

For heaven's sake man - do your research - this is a well known internet hoax that has been round the block many many times over the past few years.
It started as a (racist) campaign in Australia, spread to Canada and has been around in the UK for a good while too.

According to the House of Commons Library "the figures quoted bear no relation whatsoever to the situation in the UK."

Totally untrue, just bother to check legitimate sites to make sure you have your facts right befoe you fall foul of an EDL hoax:(
I`m a paid up OAP and an immigrant. Can I have both?
that was for TRT Dave, not for you obviously:)
> Sorry. My Rant for the Day!

You should be sorry! What drivel...
it might be 'drivel', but why does an illegal immigrant/refugee qualify for anything from the British benefit system? Aren't they supposed to be in purpose built complexes where they are monitored before they qualify and are granted citizenship and then therefore actually show they can contribute to the economy by getting a job? After they have studied for and taken the UK citizenship test of course.
> why does an illegal immigrant/refugee qualify for anything from the British benefit system?

An illegal immigrant "qualifies" for nothing from anybody. Nobody but the OP said they did.
The refutation is pretty vague about what the figures actually are.
trt's racism is based on this nonsense. Classic!!
well that sounds fair then. At work we sell the UK citizenship course in DVD and book form and it is a best seller, I've looked at the content briefly and didn't understand half the questions.
ooh, people are such cynics! But thanks to the internet, the truth will out.

Did you know that a duck's quack doesn't echo??
> I've looked at the content briefly and didn't understand half the questions.

If that is *REALLY* true (and, if it is, I feel very sorry for you) then the only honourable course of action open to you is to move overseas as soon as possible...
I know, Dot, someone posted a link to the citizenship questions (or some of them) the other day and I failed miserably. I think one of them was wrong, too.
It is really true, I'm not saying that I didn't know the answers though, it was just some of the questions are very complicated. I can't move abroad yet until I win the lottery, then I will go voluntarily.
> I'm not saying that I didn't know the answers though, it was just some of the questions are very complicated.

For heaven's sake!
Do you feel sorry for jno too Mark? : )
well, I feel sorry for myself, dotty, just a lowly immigrant am I and even after all these years it seems I don't know how many bank holidays there are. Or a lot of other things I've managed decades without knowing. You have to wonder who dreamt these questions up.
> how did you do, MarkRae?

23/24.
