Delete the part of the web address after the word WELCOME and try again.
Question Author
thanks but where do i go to delete it from?
Bring up your browser and you will notice that the URL in the address box has got '.make added to it somehow.
With your LH mouse button, double click in the space after it and use your keyboard back button to delete that unwanted part of the URL then press return and the correct address should be loaded.
Question Author
it didnt have the 'make after it,that is just how it came up when i typed it on here.
its just when i click on the blueyonder shortcut it wont work.
Have you tried bringing up you browser via the Internet explorer icon
Question Author
i dont have an internet explorer icon!
Does it bring up a browser window when you click the Blueyonder icon. If it does delete the address and type in

http://www.blueyonder.co.uk
Question Author

-- answer removed --
What does the message appear in if not a browser window.
Question Author
its a gray box with the message in it and a red cross.it has a blue band round it and at the top in the blue bit it has the blueyonder web address in it.this apears in the centre of the screen and just has the ok box in it.
sorry i just dont know what im doing.
Have you tried starting your browser from Start/All Programmes/Internet Explorer
Question Author
just did, that worked and brought up the msn web page.
Question Author
i think i just need to know how to set blueyonder as my default browser.
Right do two things.

Repeat that but in All Programmes right click the Internet Explorer which will bring up a list of options. Select ' Send to' and then from the further options now available select ' Desktop (create shortcut)
This will now give you an icon to use on your desktop.

Secondly, bring up your browser with this shortcut and type in the Blueyonder address exactly as I wrote it earlier. Then when the page has loaded correctly go to Tools/Internet Options
Under the general tab it gives you the option to select current which of course is your Blueyonder start page.

This will solve your immediate problem of internet access but you need to find out why your original link has become corrupted. Are you using antivirus, anti adware and firewall programmes
Question Author
i have the google pack with firewall, antivirus and ad-aware and fire fox which when i go to all programs for that it say safe mode in brackets at the side of it,if this makes any sence?
Firefox is an alternative browser to Internet Explorer and you have the protection needed

As I said it sounds as though your Blueyonder link has become corrupted. Presumably this was installed with a CD that Blueyonder supplied.

Try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it or if you don't feel happy doing that, just follow the steps I gave you above which will set Blueyonder as your Home page. (Blueyonder is not a browser)

Repeat all of it in Firefox also if you want to use that, its better and safer than IE anyway
Question Author
cant do anything with firefox cos when i go to it nothing happens it just says (safe mode) at the side of it in all programs.
i sorted the other though thanks alot you have been a great help.answer bank is always saving my life.
One final word, it sounds as though Firefox was your default browser and it may be that which has become corrupted.
You can always uninstall that and reinstall it from the Mozilla website.
Glad to have been able to help.
When you install Firefox, it puts two shortcuts in your programs menu. The first one "Firefox" runs Firefox normally, and the second "Firefox [safe mode]" runs Firefox in safe mode (i.e it disables all the themes and add-ons, in case any of them are causing problems).

When you click a URL (internet address), Windows should run your default browser, and this is clearly not happening. It sounds to me as if you installed Firefox, set it as your default browser, then deleted it.

Open internet explorer
Click tools/internet options
Go to the Programs tab
Click the button (or checkbox) to make IE your default browser.
Then when you click your Blueyonder shortcut, it should automatically open in IE.
