........an 8" reflecting telescope. Not your everyday purchase that is it? I want to try a bit of astrophotography. I'm not expecting any fantastic deep space, large galaxy photos. You need very specialized equipment for those. But we'll see. Might get some nice planetary shots. Up, up and beyond!!!!

Hope that the sky's dark enough for you. Always wanted to scan the stars myself, but never awake enough that time of day, and usually get cloud covered skies anyway. Good luck with the paparazziing.

Kielder's not a million miles from the Manchester area, if I were investing in something like that I think that's where I'd head for, even if only a there and back trip, it's an amazing area. We get it dark here in Norfolk but nothing like Kielder. Good luck with it, the results should be fantastic.

Happy galaxy gazing - just don't point your telescope at the Paxons - they don't like being spied on - being isolationsists
