that's what I always do, gordie, and it's done me no harm. You'll be fine.

I haven`t googled it but I wouldn`t worry about it - it`s only an antibiotic.
subject to anything Sqad may say, you should be okay, though if you have any side effects from a normal dose you'll get them stronger.

Think I'd most likely pop in to the nearest A & E just to be on the safe side, I mean you never know!

I know I can be a bit dramatic at times and ott but in a lot of cases people are told to start off by taking 2 to hit it on the head

I was just thinking that if you've been on them for a day or two then suddenly up the dose it could just cause an overreaction!
"I feel fine apart from a bit flushed" You`re probably flushed because you are worrying.

Or over reacting!
Don`t be so harsh Baldric. You don`t know people`s mental state who post on here.

i prefer the overeacting to overreaction ovcerreaction sounds freaky lol i dont think i will die from 1 extra ANTIBIOTIC lol
So it was an abscess then!
no, gordie, you won't. You won't even feel ill. Relax.
If it was me that I'd taken the extra dose, I doubt that I'd be worried.

However the official advice is this:
"Taking extra doses of some medicines can be harmful. In some cases even one extra dose can cause you problems. If you take extra doses of your medicine, you must get medical advice immediately. You may need a test to assess the effect of taking extra doses. This is because the effects of taking too much medicine are very complex so it is very important that you seek medical advice.

Contact your prescriber, pharmacist, specialist clinic or call 111 for advice.

Make sure you take all of your medicine containers with you if you are advised to go to hospital"

Just erring on the side of caution, you can never be too careful where medicines are concerned
1 extra antibiotic isn't going to matter a jot

Looks like Chris ^^ agrees with me!
Who is Chris -lots of people seem to agree with him but I never see the name Chris beside any avatar?
I'll just look at the name tag that Mummy sewed into my jimjams . . .

Yes, as I thought, it seems that I'm Chris ;-)
Amoxycillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic. I have used it a million times for ear infections. I have even bought it over the counter in some countries (Thailand, India). I doubt anyone would die because they took an extra tablet or two.
