Sunday. An early start for me, I have to be away at 7.

A cloudy sky this morning, I hope it stays dry as I'm on the canal today. We shall see.

Have a happy day everyone.

Good morning waterboatman how are you feeling today?
I have to be out early today too.
I'm going to pick up a copy of the Lord's Prayer to copy into my blackbird book! :)

Morning chik xxx I'm fine thanks. How are you? :o} Blackbird book?
Yes, I'm keeping a diary of the blackbird family for my granddaughter. They are ever so sweet.
Question Author
How lovely! I'm sure she will treasure it.

I have about 6 pairs of birds nesting in my back hedge. I love watching them.
Morning Boaty xx and Chik xx
Something for her to keep after I'm gone. My daughter and I like that sort of stuff.

What birds do you have nesting in your hedge, waterboatman?
Morning janbee! :)
I used to have loads of lovely birds coming in to my garden but the foxes and a gazillion cats in the area have less their numbers drastically.
I do however, have waaaayyy too many vile seagulls.... and I could happily see their numbers reduced.

Morning Jan xxx Hoe are you this morning? :o}

chik I have two pairs of blackbirds, several pairs of sparrows and a pair of thrushes.
^^^^LESSENED !! not less
Ooh janbee! Check out my earlier seagull post perhaps we could get the ball rolling on that one?
I'll be away soon too. I have a friend staying and we're heading out about 7.30 -8am for a wander over The Downs before the sun gets too hot. Have to make lots of noise trampling through scrub and fields in case of adders. That's the only downside to walking in the country. I HATE snakes !
When I was out walking a borrowed pooch yesterday I saw what I think may have been swifts in the fields, I may be wrong though and must check that one out.

Have a nice day!

We get those evil flying rats here too. But not all the time, the crows beat them up!
where is your seagull post chik? Couldn't find it
Question Author
Have a happy day chik. xxxxx :o}

Adders will go away if they are aware of you. They are beautiful. :o}
We do have quite a lot of magpies too. I like to look after the remaining blackbirds and thrushes and Blue tits and occasional wren when I see them. I used to put out seed for them all but the foxes and cats just ate it all.
Boaty, that's why we talk loudly and rustle the grass as we're walking just to let them know we are there and to s0d off.

I get a good mixture in my garden too Jan. The residents are used to me and don't fly off, the visitors do though.
