Until Christmas. They really should be spread about more. How about moving the May day holiday to October. May be calling it Trafalgar day or moving it to Halloween and calling it Pagans day. God I hate Christmas.
I hate it too Jeza - buying all those unwanted presents - altho got away last christmas giving money presents even at that worked out at £1,000 - I know I am mad and now buying out my house I can't really afford it.
me too Jeza - my mother's sister whom she adored died on Christmas Eve and my mother cried for 3 days before xmas eve and 10 days after so I associate Christmas with all her crying - it went on for years.
I love Christmas. Just enjoy spending it with family and eating/drinking too much!
I usually get the kids tickets to see a show or something. I don't think they remember what presents they get from one year to the next, but they remember the things we do.
I think it's what each makes it, Conn. No need to spend lots of money... toast those who are no longer with us but love and enjoy the company of those who are.....x
who wants holidays in October when it's liable to be dark and miserable? At least in May you've got a chance of good weather (not fulfilled much this year)
Sorry Jeza but I disagree....a family isn't necessary to share and enjoy Christmas.....I have friends with no family left but they are a pleasure to spend time with.
jno, Easter, Mayday and Spring Bank are IMO too close together. After August there is nothing to the end of December. 4 Bloody months of wind and rain and snow. Why not have a bank holiday to break it up.
