Oh minty, sorry to hear that really knocks the stuffing out of you, doesn't it. Nice cup of tea may help or something stronger ?
Minty
That is just awful xxx
Horrible feeling of shock and helplessness, as you say there was nothing you could have done.

Take care.

We stopped but nothing could be done....both first Aiders .but too bad...she was well gone..
That must be an awful experience. Hope I never come across anything like that. Hope you feel better soon. I should imagine its trying to get it out of your mind thats the worst x
I know that seems to intensify the sadness, but still it was something completely out of your hands, allow yourself to be sad, but do not let it overwhelm you.

Easy to say I know.

Thats why I cant understand this rubber necking. I wouldnt want to see anyone badly hurt in a crash etc. Its would stay in my mind.
Sorry to hear all that minty - although a trained first-aider I've never had to deal with anything so serious.

How awful for her and you too. I was once first on the scene at 6am on my way to work. very icy and I heard a loud bump. Rushed to the crashed car dreading what I would find. Luckily the airbag had activated. I heard later he was not too bad. Its an awful feeling in the pit of your stomach
Me desky.

Minty, don't beat yourself up, you did what you could. Knowing you were there in a way makes me feel better, knowing that she wasn't alone gives a little comfort xx
just wanted to send both you and queenie a big (((hug)))
Minty, as Queenie said she was glad there was someone there at the time,
you've brought my queenie a wee bit of comfort too she's still upset, and didn't sleep too well last night.
It is horrible witnessing a car accident been there myself many years ago, you did what you could. It's such a waste when someone so young dies, all that promise gone in an instant, I really feel for her parents as she was their only child. Things like this should serve as a reminder of the transience of life and we should all live each day as if it's our last.

Queenie she was well gone... hail Mary and few Catholic prayers said ...she was not alone.
