THANKS for all of your answers the current concensus seems to be NO based on it being a bad thing (WHAT exactly were you thinking???????)

The question was..... I have been offered a job with a large salary by one of my customers (I am self employed).
The dilemma is that I am not currently making anywhere near the salary offered but I enjoy my independance. I THINK I can make plently of money doing what I do but the FACTS say I am not.
The reason asked the question in that way is because I feel I am being selfish to the other people in my life by enjoying my independance ( ie I could take my partner on holiday with the extra money).

I could be here for days giving the pros & cons but NOW what do you think

Quoi, do what makes you happy, I have been self employed for 27 years and although there are down sides to it. ie: no sick pay, no paid holidays, no dole if things go tits up etc, I love it, I will never be a slave again, give me freedom to enjoy my life, the money may not be there but Oh the lifestyle you can't buy no matter how much you earn, but only you can decide what is important to you, good luck, Ray
