When you have posed a Q this black box reply comes up saying " Your Question has been posted"? is there any need for it?

It's only there for a second. Before we had a bar across the top saying the same.

I actually wonder whether instead of "your question has been posted" the IT bods should bring up a little box that says "do you really want to post this question?" followed by "Are you sure?" followed by "you're going to get laughed at"........... to give some posters the opportunity to rethink.

Further to Barmaid's post, maybe an option to edit the post before it's published would be a good idea. The same could apply to replies. People frequently suggest an "edit" option being introduced in order to correct ypos etc and this would be one way to have it. If you review an item on Amazon etc you are given the option to check it before it's published, why not the same on here?

You want to know it has been posted before you change the page you are looking at, don't you ? You might have to write it all out again otherwise, if you move on assuming it was posted.

That said, it doesn't stay long enough to read anyway. There is an argument for looking at the present coding.

What about - "You're going to start a fight, why are you doing this?"

Followed by - "Why do you feel the need to be nasty to a complete stranger?"

Maybe that would cut down some of the nonsense!

Because bgh people already do check it, and seem blind to the most blatant, obviously embarrassingly annoying errors, already. There is no alternative to being allowed to edit the post after it has been posted, as other sites do. Whether it is 20 ms later or 6 months.
