Oh no - what will we do without our seasonal sprouts??

Fortunately I planned well in advance and have had mine on the boil since bonfire night - should be just right for Christmas Day.

Hi SD,

I need at least a 30 foot exclusion zone around me, to keep people safe from the repercussions of me eating Brussels sprouts!!

Well..when you're molding your gnomes out of your recycling make a few sprouts and I'll paint them....x
I usually go to Mum's for Christmas so I do hope She' aware of this heart wrenching news as I do love my sprouts... only then and Easter do I eat them.
Although I am not planning to have any this year roasting them with shallots and thyme and finishing off with a squeeze of lemon is a a delight and easy way to serve them.
On Wednesday, Dad had sprouts on his dinner at his care home. They were grey!

I am taking him out for dinner tomorrow. No sprouts.

I've shredded them, blanched them quickly & then pan fried with chopped chestnuts & lardons - very tasty with leftover turkey :)
That's it now Dave the cats out the bag,............... Panic buying sprouts. !!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine are also already on, I like to give them time to cook.
If you've just started them Marvel, you may be a bit late on that one... unless you're thinking of Easter.
Add this to the Bird Flu threat to Turkey , chicken, ducks and geese.
And it will be a dismal Christmas!
It's alright Arksided, they have been on for a few weeks.
Rumour has it Santa has the sack ;-/
I find them to be a bit firm if you put them on to boil on bonfire night, just right if you put them on at halloween.
The sprout lovers of East Anglia can rest assured the CC Wells had a sprout mountain, I've never seen them stacked so high, they were on the thingy, the stalk. If you can smell sprouts cooking, and any green vegetable, they're over-cooked.
Do what my Dad did - grow your own. We never had any pests on our sprouts because my Dad was a good gardener/farmer
Phew! I bought a whole stalk a couple of days ago (there seem to be plenty left if anyone wants directions to the Farm Shop).
