Wednesday. All is calm and peaceful out and about this morning. A bit chilly though.
I had yer wee man here yesterday, supposedly to fit smart meters. He had a loo, got his wee machine out and went to both meters, then came back and said he couldn't fit the new smart meters as they wouldn't be able to talk to each other. The wonders of technology.
Off for some shoplifting in Quedgley this morning. Should be fun!
Still pitch black here but house feels cold so take it it's a bit nippy outside. Have been awake since 3.30am so have done three loads of holiday washing so far and fully u packed suitcases. Cat won't leave me alone and is following me everywhere so have just come back to bed with cup of tea and my iPad x
So after a couple of lagers I went to the mini mart.
Was in a hardware store yesterday, a friendly assistant asked what I needed.
"Mrs Ozz wants light bulbs, so you better guide me to the woodworking tools"
A couple of hundred dollars later I had 4 light bulbs too.
Wow, that was a close call. You could have been stuck with 'smart' meters otherwise.
Not overly sure why they need to 'talk' to each other, sounds like they're designed to gang up on the customer.
oz that sounds like my kind of shopping trip! :o} I went to get my hair cut yesterday, just round the corner from here, afterwards I thought I'd drop in to the butcher next door to get some bacon. £39 later! :o}
Morning OG. Apparently they are designed to talk to each other in order to tell you how much the company can fleece you for. But they have to be fairly close to each other. Mine are not. The electric meter is just outside the front door, the gas meter is on the side, near the kitchen at the back of the house. It seems the signal can't get through. Fine by me. I don't particularly want one anyway.
Candle buying is Mrs Ozz's domain, scented hippy candles ;-).
Thought I'd be a bit romantic the other day, cut some Lavender flowers and stuck 'em in a vase. 'Er indoors chucked them out the moment she walked in, apparently doesn't like Lavender indoors. After all these years you would think I'd have learnt that!
Can't understand why one particular flower would be barred from the house, unless there is some superstition I'm unaware of.
I do a bit more gardening since being unemployed but I'm not particularly good at it. But it does give one an 'appreciation' of what an absolute nuisance neighbours' cats are and how cat owners see no need to train them :-( (Or maybe they do ?)
