General gardening advice

Are there any decent websites that offer tips & advice to first time gardeners? All the webistes I've found so far, assume you have some gardening 'experience' & I can find very little on planting etc. I'm need ultra-basic, please!

Thanks, Boognish, but I actually need advice even more basic than this; e.g. how & when to plant bulbs, how much water to use, what plants are suitable for what conditions. I've never gardened before & don't want to shell out on a load of stuff that isn't suitable for my garden!
