Saturday. We had a lovely day yesterday. Went to Mevagissey and then to Goran, which I fell in love with. A pretty wee village with it's own harbour.

There's Portloe (nice hotel, the Lugger, overlooking the harbour) and the Ship Inn up the hill a bit.....the Roseland Inn in Philleigh (not far from the Harry Ferry), then St Just Roseland (beautiful church), St Mawes and Portscatho to visit. St Mawes has the other Henry VIII castle across the Fal. Also a very upmarket hotel in the Tresanton owned by the mother of that woman who does the hotel and business renovation on TV, Olga Polizzi (Lord Rocco Forte's eldest).

Be careful there's St Just and St Just Roseland, two very different places.

Yup. There is indeed. We're aware of that mate.

If you go down to St Just, the best icecream at Jelberts in Newlyn. Only one flavour and toppings include clotted cream - the icecream is not as sweet as some and can take the cream. Easiest way is come down the front in Penzance and into Newlyn, past the art gallery/school and it's just before the bridge on the right, some parking to the left..... Mousehole is really nice too.
