A person I've known for 40+ years has made it in the Haulage game by exploiting drivers & he is known for it, I don't go much for people like that, but fair play to him, he has done well, if you are ever stuck for money, parts for your car, tools in the large HGV Garage he has, he is there to purchase the tools & he would pay the Vat, this person has one very ( In my opinion) bad habit of bragging that he is worth £100.000000, many a time I say to him, you are boring, can you not talk about anything else, do you know anyone like that?

There are people in the Religion section on here who are professional braggers!
//do you know anyone like that?//

Yep, mostly ignore their prater.
No. I know of no one who brags that they "are worth" £100.000000.

Personally I'm priceless, but I don't tend to point that out.
If you need to tell this person 'many a time ...' that his talk of his wealth is boring, it indicates that he is someone who doesn't listen, or doesn't care to take advice from old friends.

I would seek other company.
If he talks about his worth a lot it suggests he has a chip on his shoulder about being perceived by others as just a blue-collar grease monkey type. Just ignore it, he needs to do it to make himself feel better
Can you write that figure down in letters, Tw. Just to be sure I have the right amount.

Put your glasses on T, everyone else can see what I've written.
You have written £100. I think you meant to write £100,000000.
Are you not bragging that you actually know someone who is worth £100,000000, TWR?:-) TIC
Give me the chance to "brag" about having £100million and i wouldn't care a toss what other people thought of me.

One man's bragging is another man's inferiority complex.

What really annoys me and i have seen it on AB many times, when a question is asked and it is answered honestly then the poster is described as ,,"bragging" ..when they have only told the truth. e.g
Q: How many women have you slept with?
A: 57

He is then pilloried on AB as ...."bragging"

No, for me a little "bragging" is no big deal.
People who spout on continually about their personal lives and claimed achievements are always boring. The truly successful have no need to prove it to anyone else.

I know a few millionaires Ken, I've not talked about the others before as they do not brag about their wealth.
How about:

I have reached 500,000 BEST ANSWERS?

I have 28 Badges.

Is that bragging?
Question Author
Exactly Naomi, I'm only worth a tenner & I don't brag.
If youve got it, flaunt it
Money doesn’t equate to class – and bragging about it indicates a distinct lack of class.
naomi....TRUE.

However i would rather lack class and have money, than be "classy" but poor. Just a personal opinion.
To be honest, i don't think i'd find his constant bragging as much of a problem as the fact that he exploits his drivers.
Question Author
Do you know Naomi, the person is a likeable bloke & would do anything for anyone, but this lets him down.
sqad, :o)
