....where to put this. I just received a text from a friend who lives in the Borders (not far from me) asking why is everybody lighting candles and posting it on Facebook. I didn't know the answer but I said it could maybe be this but I was wondering if anybody on here knew why this could be happening?

In the UK this is SANDS day, it's to raise awareness of stillbirth and neonatal death.... we have three candles lit on the mantlepiece at the moment, one for our son Colin a neonatal death and one for Hannah our daughter who died during birth and the third in memory of all the friends of our who have lost children over the years.....
I cried everytime I hear Alans name and why that anyone could kill someone so kind.

"Kasim Jameel, from Bolton, who was with Henning on the convoys and first interested him in helping the people of Syria, said: "I'm totally heartbroken. What can you say? When you lose someone so important to you, you can't put it into words. Everyone who knew him from the convoys just can't stop crying – grown men with beards. We keep expecting him to come round the corner, and say, 'I was only joking'.

"He is the best of the best, a pure soul, he is in the best paradise. It's time for him to rest, he's done a lot of work, God's called an angel back.""

^I really hope that is true :(
Sorry to hear that, Slappy :-(
Sorry to hear that slapshot your post wasn't there when I posted mine and went off to the kitchen.

Hopefully they're all playing with the angels :)

Thank you for the link Buenchico.

Also thank you for your reply too Slapshot. May I offer my love to you and your partner for the loss of your two children. I am thinking of you and all the others that have been through this.

Thank you too Henrietta for your reply.
a wee thought for Colin and Hannah from me.
how very sad slapshot for you, your wife and your families. i'll light one just for you.
No thank you queenofmean for your post which ended up reminded me of poor Alan Henning.

I've been so wrapped up in being broke and out of work I forget that people and their families are out there going through hell compared to what I'm going through which pales in comparison.
I shall light a Candle for all in need and all who have suffered - including a dear neighbour who today had an operation for a life threatening condition.x

God bless all the little angels too.
And thank you buenchico :)

I'm glad I could help Henrietta. I understand how you feel though.

I don't have a proper candle to hand but I have some flameless ones so I will switch them on in memory of Alan and also for the poor wee souls that passed so early in life.
Thank you for your kind words, we have two very bad days a year but we cope, they were both a long time ago, but its still hard
