If she asked nicely, then yes, I'd make my wife a cup of tea!

I was very fond of my old boss, so if he asked I would have made him tea. He never did, and insisted that nobody should be making tea for others as a duty.
No idea......i have always been the boss.
yes but only if i worked in a tea shop

\\\\and insisted that nobody should be making tea for others as a duty.\\\\\

Woooow! what a good boss...........;-)

I have been known to spit in it too if I'm in that kind of mood
So be warned and don't ask me to (I actually find it rather patronising)
He was a lovely boss. He also thought that if you called people by their first name then you should also be called by your first name, no matter how high up the tree you were.

His attitude was that everyone's job was of equal importance. As a result I think he got more out of all the staff.

Saying that, he did make me tea when I was pregnant and couldn't walk very far due to a knackered pelvis.
Yes absolutely, how does it harm anyone to make someone a cup of tea?
Kvali....quite.

Most people start as the "team maker" then work hard to improve their lot, so that one day they may be the "boss."

Others who have no ambition who does "just enough"..will always remain as "tea makers".

Seems fair to me.

if I ask you to make me a cup of tea, as your boss.....bloody make one.
Sure, I would have done. I am retired now; I never had a boss who saw it as a status thing. I think it depends very much on the bosses attitude. If they are the kind to rub your nose in their seniority, then it will show in more than who makes the tea.
Sorry to hijack your thread Ric.ror but SQAD- would you pop over here please and advise Emmie, she sounds terrible . xxx

it's only a cup of tea ! 2 mins to make. why not.?
Yes. Not a problem...

Very impressed that Sqad qualified and instantly become the boss. That's an achievement...:-)
I did many times, Ric....and he made tea/coffee for us if he was in the staff room first....

The only time he ever laid down the law about it was when he was fined for speeding.....he banned us from making tea for our visiting community bobby....til the ire wore off......☺
