Love 'em or hate 'em?

It's that season ... Halloween Balls, Winters Balls, Mistletoe Balls, New Years Eve Balls, Burns Night Balls, Charity Balls, etc ...

Can't wait to dig out the LBD and see the guys in dinner suits?

Or hate all the formality and ceremony?

What's the LBD?
Before I had the kids and my body went to pot, I really liked a good ball (or ceilidh, being of tartan blood).

Now I can no longer fit my wreck of a figure into the LBD I feel a bit like a sausage in a frock.

Do enjoy seeing men in kilts though.

Ahhh, back to the diet and Wii fit...

That would be the Nov5th Ball...would it?

long black dress?
ah!
pipped at the post.
Don't really do formality nowadays, had enough of that in previous life, having said that, if it's something OH really wants to attend I'll make the effort.

2sp ... I bought my BF a kilt for a Burns Night Ball a couple of years ago. I have a matching one, and a tartan sash that I can wear with an LBD.
Thanks JJ; I realised as soon as I had posted.
little black dress

and no thanks, cold nights in front of fire with good book and bottle of vino (and cheese)
Strange how men are very sexy in a skirt.
I have a whole wardrobe full of formal evening wear but no LBD. However, by the time we are on the 3rd function, I am fed up with it, fed up with not knowing what to wear, fed up with Mr BM taking four hours to get ready and fed up with making small talk with people I don't really know or like that much. I think I'm just grumpy.
I don't think they have anything like that where I am, JJ... I'm anti-social and wouldn't even go to the staff Christmas Party!
lol JN. I managed to get away with not having an xmas party for the last few years, we have a new md this year and she's big on "mingling" :-(

I wont; go but i bet i'll end up having to organise it :-(
I used to love the dinner/dances that I attended when I worked for various law firms in London. Always held at hotels in London - Savoy, Dorchester, Ritz etc etc. It was lovely to get all togged up in an evening dress and see your boss in a monkey suit, looking smart.

Those were the days, sadly now gone.

Well, I love them too.

I think the Burns Night is one of my favourites.

I've never managed to find an opportunity to do something naughty for the BF under his kilt, LOL. Maybe this year ... :0) ... if maybe there's an empty lift or something? :0)
What about Ed
Question Author
What?? Ed?? Does the Ed want to give my BF a bee jay?
^^just spat out my tea!

Weddings are good for that type of thing, JJ. Especially the summer ones... Mr P and I were at a posh wedding at a golf club. Very nearly got caught up to no good behind a rhodendrum (sp) bush by the bride's mother. Happy days.
