I usually send some on Comic relief and Its a fact that the UK is one of the most generous Country's for donating to charity.

But is there to much of it on TV and the media asking/begging for us to cough up every week, whether its for children or animals?

Sorry I forgot to mention that Bob Geldof and celebs did there bit in the 1980s with feed the world but its still going on!
No I haven't, though I have in previous years.
What's still going on?
No I haven't - I am supporting Wingnut and her two daughters in their Race for Life (for Breast Cancer research). At least I know where that is going. I hope she will reach her target of £250.
I missed that, SB. Can you provide a link, please...?

The drought, lack of food and medicine and fresh water ummmm!
Funny trt I said just that myself the other day.

Sometimes I think that charities are their own worst enamy, you donate then for ever more they won't leave you alone. They want more they want you to increase what you give. So this year I've cancelled all my donations by DD
If I gave to them all I'd be needing a charity myself to help me. NO not any more I'll put a few quid in a tin thats rattled under my nose & thats it.
(As long as its not the PDSA) Thats another story!

No! And I presume the 'still going on' refers to starving children in Africa or wherever. When I was at school we sold little books of pictures of babies (Sunny Smiles?) for a penny a picture for starving children in Biafra I think it was then. I have asked this before, but why would a mother want to bring a child into that sort of environment when they can't even feed themselves? But still they keep breeding.
They don't just help brown babies trt

Sigh.
Yes, I have. I support and fund raise for a Third World charity. I don`t believe my efforts will stop it "still going on" any more than Bob Geldof did but my heart bleeds for those children born into this unfair world.
Wouldn`t it be lovely if TV and the media didn`t have to beg.
Yes. Believe in the work Sport Relief covers. I know I will be inundated with more begging letters but I can bin those I do not want to support. Sick of the animal (adoption) appeals on the T.V. Children before animals.
I think you have already given some Mark - you are always so generous, but no-one else has given. The link is http://www.raceforlif...org/the-johnson-girls but I do not know how to embed it. You did it for me on my last request, although still no-one took the invitation.
Well, it's sorted now...
Sorry, there have been other ABers donating. As is my usual habit, I didn't read it properly. There has been a total of £160 so far - 64% of her goal.
Yes I have
Well, Mark, you are absolutely brilliant. I am sure Wingnut will be very pleased that you have let her reach her target. You are indeed a very generous person.
Some of us gave yesterday Star.
Lankeela. I`m sure the mothers don`t want to bring children into that sort of environment. Have you looked into why they they keep breeding?

Star. Not only new to AB but new to computers so have never donated on line. I will make it my "learn today" challenge to donate to your friend.
