I've to bring proof of ID, (can do) proof of address (can do) proof of any bank/building society accounts which I can't do as I no longer have one.
It is surely impossible to prove that nothing exists?

Give them a blank piece of paper and tell them all your bank details etc are on the paper. Good Luck Alba
You don't have a bank account?

You'll just have to tell them that. When did you close your account/s?
Do yu have any letters from the time you closed the accounts?
Question Author
lol Dicky like that idea:)

Account was closed about 2 and a bit years ago after Mr alba became redundant and a slight discussion took place about the inurance covering a loan.
I might have some letters somewhere. If they are in a safe place then HELP!!

Many thanks for your replies.
Someone on AB asked how to prove they had never been divorced and it is of course almost impossible to prove a negative, I imagine the DWP have informed you that they will wish to pay you by direct payment into your bank account and you wish to prove you do not have one, you will have great difficulty doing so.

The government has said that benefit recipients will at the appropriate time, be given information setting out the various account options. If you experience difficulty obtaining your money due to these arrangements, complain to the DWP and/or your MP. The DWP will usually recognise that some people have difficulty, for various reasons, in being paid by direct payment and will pay you by cheque which can be cashed at the Post Office, but take ID.
