Best I saw was Aida in Madrid outdoors...
I would be jealous if you were being treated to a rendition of "non piangere liu" from Turandot
or..your tiny hand is frozen..La boheme.....
What time aria going?
or the pearl fishers..duet....
nicely slipped in stewey ;)
..or the hewbrews chorus.....
"nicely slipped in stewey ;)"
Now there's something open to misinterpretation!

Thank you all. I get a couple of freebies every year to the final dress rehearsal which is just the same as a performance but you don't have to dress up. As I love opera it's just the best pressie for me. See ya later.

I like the bit where they divide the audience into two and each half gets to sing-along with a different character...........
Jealous here too Ladybirder. The Glyndebourne Don Giovanni was on TV at Christmas. It was wonderful. That and Dr Who were the only things worth watching :o)
OMG, ladyb ... I an totally jealous !

I went once last year, to see Hansel und Gretel, which was fab, although a slightly weird set with some sort of anti disposable society kind of undertone ... and it was a warm evening, and I absolutely loved it.

I'm not going this year.

(unless anyone surprises me with a couple of tickets !!!)

Well I'm back and it was every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be. World Class stuff. I love Mozart and it was the first time I've seen Don G. Weather was great, gardens beautiful, stunning setting, and bumblebees and birds everywhere - what more could you want. Oh dear, such a pain, gotta wait 2 weeks before I go again:-)
Yaaaaaaaaay!

Saw Pavarotti in Hyde Park Lady J in 1991? I think. Lady Di was there. Thousands there it was magic. And thank you all for your good wishes (despite your jealousy).
